theStacks

Welcome to the show

Howdy friends, thanks for checking out the site, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! theStacks sprung forth from my traditional fantasy football chat with college buddies. In addition to the regular NFL Fantasy smacktalk, we spent nearly every Saturday discussing which college teams passed the "eye test" and speculating who was going to make the playoffs. We enjoyed our weekly 1:1 NFL matchups but over the years there was several things we wished were different;

  • Matchups had a binary result, often punishing people with a good week and an unlucky matchup.
  • If a season went sideways early, people would lose hope and often quit playing.
  • Abandoned lineups in late-season matchups farther impact the results of the season regardless of skill.

As much as we enjoyed playing with NFL players, college rivalries are far more intense and there was no platform to share our infinite wisdom of the depth of D1 football. What started as a simple spreadsheet to pick our favorite players has slowly evolved into this site. It is certainly not perfect and you will likely find bugs here and there but I think you will find it brings some extra excitement to your college game day ritual. In the words of Bill O'Reilly, WE'LL DO IT LIVE. This is entirely a one man operation and while it has been a great opportunity for me to learn about a handful of technologies you can probably tell from the site I am not a UX developer. If you would be interested in working together to improve the experience for us all, please reach out to the email below.

If you wish to support; I am accepting donations of any size to help keep the site up. I will eventually look to include some non-instrusive ads but for the time being it's just a pet project.

If you wish to bish; I am accepting complaints at thestackscfb@gmail.com. I will do my best to at least respond and I will work on your particular complaint when it seems like the biggest fire.
